BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Nationally and locally stores are opening early to give those most vulnerable to the Covid-19 virus, the elderly, a fair opportunity to purchase the necessities they need.

Here is a list of local stores participating:

Vallarta Supermarkets will open from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. every day for seniors 65 and older, pregnant women, and disabled people.

Albertsons will open from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays for seniors 65 and older.

Target will open from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Wednesdays for seniors 65 and older and those medical conditions.

Smart & Final will open from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. every day for seniors 65 and older and disabled people.
