Local college Republican leader accused of embezzling $60,000 from his employer

A local Republican leader has been arrested on allegations of embezzling $60,000 from his employer.

Jake Thomasy, 25, was arrested Monday night at Lengthwise The Pub on Calloway Drive near Rosedale Highway. 

Thomasy is the Central Valley vice chairman of California College Republicans and president of CSUB College Republicans. 

According to the CCR website, Thomasy is in CSUB's Masters in Public Administration program. He has previously worked for former Assemblywoman Shannon Grove and has worked on several Central Valley campaigns. 

Thomasy is out on bail and is due in court at the end of the month.
