Locale Farm to Table closes due to failed health inspection, rodent droppings found

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Locale Farm to Table has closed after a health inspection revealed fresh rodent droppings under the soda fountain drink machine, on shelves under the register and next to the grease trap under sink.

According to Kern Public Health, other violations included observed debris as well as grease build up and debris under the fryer.

Locale earned a 73 percent on their inspection.

The health department said that they have met with the owner and that she has been "extremely cooperative". The department also said that they are excited to work with the owner to re-open safely.

UPDATE 5/16/2019: Locale Farm to Table closed for two days to address the issues found by Kern Public Health. The restaurant has since reopened after receiving an A from Kern Public Health.
