Los Padres National Forest to host 6th annual Women in Wildfire Training Camp

GOLETA, Calif — The U.S. Forest Service is looking for people to attend an firefighting career awareness camp for entry level firefighters.

Participants in the camp will be introduced to basic knowledge of the incident Management System, firefighting techniques as well as other firefighting basics.

The camp will take place in Santa Barbara. Those selected would recieve a stipend for the training and physical fitness test portions of the camp. Cabins and meals will be provided throughout the week.

The camp will take place from March 7-12, 2021. Applications will be open starting Sunday August 16 through Friday August 28.
