LOST HILLS, Calif. — Kern County Fire Department crews responded to the report of downed power lines near Kecks Road and Highway 46 Sunday morning.
As crews left the station a large column of smoke could be seen and full wildland vegetation response was started. First arriving crews found a grass fire spreading in light flashy fuels and began an aggressive attack to extinguish the fire. Fire crews contained the fire to thirteen acres.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries reported by civilians or firefighters.
KCFD would like to remind residents to clear vegetation and combustibles around their residence and property to create a safe defensible space.
