Low-level offenders can have warrants cleared by BPD

Starting Wednesday morning, low-level offenders in Bakersfield can have their warrants by the Bakersfield Police Department. 

The BPD will hold its annual "Clear your warrants day" starting Wednesday. 

People with non-violent offenses can get their warrants cleared. Some of those include property-related offenses and vehicle code violations. 

The following warrants are not eligible for a citation:

1) Any Felony
 
2) The misdemeanor cited in the warrant involves violence (including domestic violence).
 
3) The misdemeanor cited in the warrant involves a firearm.
 
4) The misdemeanor cited in the warrant involves resisting arrest.
 
5) The misdemeanor cited in the warrant involves giving false information to officers.
 
6) The warrant of arrest indicates that the person is not eligible to be released on a notice to appear.
 
Anyone looking to clear their warrants can go to Jefferson Park at 801 Bernard Street on Wednesday, Patriots Park at 1600 New Stine on Thursday or MLK Park at 1000 S. Owens Street on June 29.
