BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on the 99 near Copus Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol website, reports of the crash began around 9:15 p.m. At least one person is dead after a red car collided with a semi-truck and pinned two passengers inside. The semi-truck is reportedly jackknifed in the middle of the freeway causing traffic on the south bound lanes to be shut down.
As of now traffic is being diverted onto the right dirt shoulder. Fire crews and the coroner are on scene. A life flight helicopter was called in. There is no word on how many people were involved in the accident.
