A man has died from his injuries after he hit a tree on Northbound SR99 near Houghton Rd. on Sunday.
CHP officials received reports at around 9:48 am Sunday of a major injury collision on Northbound Sr99 at SR119.
According to CHP's traffic website, a vehicle came across all lanes, went off the roadway and then hit a tree.
The adult male driver had major injuries and was airlifted to Kern Medical where he later died.
CHP officials said the man was the only one involved in the accident.
For a time, northbound lanes were closed near Houghton Rd. as crews cleaned up the scene.
All lanes were reopened before 12:30 p.m.
CHP official said the man was a white male, looks to be around 25-30.
The man's name will be released at a later time by the coroner's office.
