CHP officials received reports at around 10:18 am Thursday of a multiple vehicle crash on WB SR58 at Fairfax Rd.
As of 3:20 p.m. one lane was reopened.

According to CHP traffic's website, There are reports of major injuries.
Officials said the crash started when a CalTrans vehicle was sweeping shoulder in the fast lane when the red vehicle hit and then hitting the Jeep.

Traffic was said to be backed up for miles and other drivers are being diverted off of Fairfax Rd.
There is no time yet when the rest of WB SR58 at Fairfax will reopen. Officials are urging everyone to use Edison Hwy as an alternate route. As of 2:30 officials extended the closure to Edison Rd.
