BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A major-injury crash involving two semi-trucks on Copus Road at Highway 99 closed down a portion of southbound 99 early Thursday morning.

According to CHP, the crash was reported just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say two big rigs collided into eachother, pinning in one of the drivers.

Kern County Fire Department extricated the pinned in driver and according to CHP that person was taken to the hospital by helicopter.

CHP says the Copus Road off-ramp and the southbound number 3 lane will be closed for a period of time to clean up a motor oil spill caused by the collision.
