UPDATE (Nov. 14, 9:31 p.m.): Delano Police said the male teenager who was reportedly forced into a van Wednesday afternoon was not actually kidnapped.

Police said it was determined that the two boys who appeared to "grab" the "victim" were friends who simulated a kidnapping.

The witness reported it to Delano Police as a kidnapping was unrelated to the incident, police said.

Police said no crimes were committed.

This was the second false kidnapping reported to Delano Police on Wednesday. Around 9 a.m., officers responded to a reported kidnapping near County Line Road and Casey Drive, DPD said.

Kern County Sheriff's deputies originally responded to the area for a reported car accident. A juvenile was found exiting one of the involved cars and he reported he had been kidnapped at another location within Delano and taken to that area to be dropped off by his "kidnappers."

The juvenile was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries, where he admitted to officers he had not been kidnapped, but just took the car without the owner's consent, according to police.

The juvenile was arrested for auto theft, officers said.

UPDATE (Nov. 14, 8:38 p.m.): Delano Police held a press conference on the reported kidnapping that happened Wednesday afternoon.

DPD said two suspects jumped out of a green or blue Ford Aerostar van on the 1400 block of Cecil Avenue just before 4:30 p.m. and grabbed a male teenager. Police said there may be a third suspect, who was driving the late 80s or early 90s model van.

Police said witnesses were not able to give a description of the suspects, only the suspect vehicle.

After the abduction, the van reportedly made a u-turn and went westbound on Fourth Avenue.

Police said they have not received a missing person report and no Amber Alert has been sent out.

There are no motives at this time, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Delano Police at 661-721-3369.
