The Bakersfield Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance identifying and locating a suspect wanted for armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

On March 19, 2016 at about 2:55 a.m., a suspect entered the Fastrip at 1640 S. Chester Ave., selected beer from the cooler and attempted to leave without paying. When confronted by the store clerk, the suspect brandished a large knife and threatened to kill the clerk.

The suspect then swung the knife at the clerk’s stomach but missed and fled the business on foot.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 20-30, short black hair, black shirt, and black pants.
