Man accused of stealing 2 30-packs of beer

The Bakersfield Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance identifying and locating a suspect wanted for robbery and brandishing a weapon.

On January 10, 2016 at approximately 11:45 p.m., a suspect entered the Fastrip, located at 1640 S. Chester Avenue, selected two 30-packs of beer, and attempted to leave the store without paying. When the suspect was confronted by employees, who attempted to retrieve the loss, the suspect struggled with them before fleeing the business.

Once outside, an employee attempted stop the suspect once again, at which time the suspect threatened to stab the employee.

The employee, fearing for their safety, let the suspect go and the suspect fled eastbound through the north alley. Approximately 40 minutes later, the same suspect returned and attempted to purchase a single beer; however, the employee refused, at which time the suspect brandished a six inch flat head screwdriver and again threatened to stab the employee.

The suspect dropped the beer, pushed the employee, and left the business. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult, 20-30 years old, 5’8”-5’10”, thin build, wearing a black baseball cap, yellow/black striped or flannel shirt, black jeans, and white tennis shoes.
