Kern County Sheriff's Department deputies have arrested a 52-year-old man who is accused of raping two young juveniles.
At about 1 p.m. Thursday, deputies were sent to a home in the 10000 block of South Union Avenue for a report of a subject who was trespassing.
Deputies said they found and detained the suspect, later identified as 52 year old Antonio Gardea Sr., as he was attempting to flee.
During their investigation, deputies determined Gardea broke into the residence, where he sexually assaulted two very young juveniles, before being discovered by their mother.
Gardea had no prior acquaintance with the family. Gardea was later booked into the Kern County Jail on multiple felony counts. He is being held on open charges, as well as parole and probation holds.
His bail is currently set at $1,220,000.00.
