A Wasco man who was arrested last week after being involved in a crash on Highway 43 has died, according to the Kern County Coroner's Office.

Carlos Valencia was arrested after the California Highway Patrol said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash on Hwy. 43 south of McCombs Avenue on May 30.

Valencia, 59, died on June 2 at Kern Medical. 

Four people were involved in the two-car wreck, injuring two people. 

CHP says the southbound driver on Highway 43 crossed a broken yellow line into a northbound lane, hitting another car head on.
