Explosive material found in Arvin home

Police were checking on a man in Arvin on probation when they discovered materials that could be used for explosives. A mass force of several police departments were part of the crew that discovered these materials.

Kern County Sheriff officials said they are responding to a bomb call out in Arvin.

Police there have arrested a man after finding explosive material inside a home located in the 300 block of South Derby St.

The KCSO bomb squad is assisting with the Arvin Police Department.

KCSO officials say that this is currently an active investigation.
