Man arrested after shooting in Wofford Heights

WOFFORD HEIGHTS, Calif. — A man has been arrested after a shooting in Wofford Heights.

KCSO says on Wednesday, January 16 around 3:53 p.m., deputies were called out for a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of Evans Road in Wofford Heights. When deputies arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was airlifted to Kern Medical with non-life threatening injuries.

KCSO says an investigation led deputies to a home in the 1000 block of Lakeview Terrace. At the home, 64-year-old John Raymond Rener was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
