A man is behind bars after he led deputies on a short vehicle pursuit in Oildale overnight.
Kern County Sheriff's deputies first responded to a home just before 1:30 a.m. on Oildale Drive and Washington Avenue for a report of domestic violence.
While en route, deputies found 51-year-old John Knight driving in the area of Manor Street and Norris Road.
Knight refused to stop and led deputies on a short pursuit. He fled to his home and attempted to run over his wife who was in front of their home.
After a short physical struggle with deputies, Knight was arrested for attempted homicide, evading and resisting arrest.
