Bakersfield police arrested 55-year-old Jesus Lopez after a stabbing early this morning, where he was taken into custody at the Kern County Jail and booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

The stabbing happened around 4 a.m. in the area of Reynosa Avenue and Nadeau Street.

Officers discovered that two adult males were involved in a physical altercation and one of the males slashed the other with a sharp object.

He was transported to the local hospital and was listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
