A man was arrested Sunday evening after a SWAT standoff in Mojave.
Deputies from the Mojave Substation were sent to the 2100 block of Panamint Street regarding a spousal abuse investigation at about 5 p.m.
The suspect was identified as Mojave resident Ricky Harris, 35.
Deputies were told Harris assaulted a woman and threatened to kill her. Harris was also wanted in connection for another assault which occurred in March, 2016.
Deputies located Harris and when deputies confronted Harris, he began to make suicidal comments and pointed a gun at himself. Harris barricaded himself inside of the residence and refused to come outside. The Sheriff's Office SWAT team was called and negotiators were able to convince Harris to surrender without further incident.
Harris was booked into the Central Receiving Facility on charges of spousal abuse, false imprisonment, making criminal threats, brandishing a weapon, resisting arrest, violation of a court order, and for an outstanding arrest warrant for assault.
