The Bakersfield Police Department says a man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his sister's boyfriend.

According to police, officers were dispatched to a home on Real Road on Monday night after reports of an assault with a deadly weapon. 

According to police, the person who reported the assault said her brother had stabbed her boyfriend. 

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated. 

The suspect, who has not been identified, faces attempted murder charges.
