BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man was arrested for burglarizing a Northeast Bakersfield junior high school.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, around 2:16 a.m. on May 21, officers responded to Chipman Junior High School, located at 2905 Eissler Street in Northeast Bakersfield, regarding a burglary alarm. When officers arrived, they observed a man attempting to flee from campus.
The man, identified as Troyce Coker, was ordered by officers to stop and allegedly initially ignored officers' commands. BPD says Coker eventually surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
BPD says Coker was found to be in possession of several laptops, which were taken from classrooms. BPD says several more laptops were concealed inside Coker's vehicle.
Coker was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest. He was transported and booked into the Kern County Jail.
