Man arrested for grand theft for allegedly stealing farm equipment

A man was arrested for grand theft and possession of stolen property for allegedly stealing farm equipment.

Authorities saw an increase of farm equipment being stolen from farmland areas of Kern County and began an investigation.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office Rural Crime Investigations Unit put equipment under surveillance near Old River Road and Taf Highway. They were notified on Monday that the equipment had been stolen.

Detectives took Tyler Rhodes, 30, into custody and booked him into the Central Receiving Facility.
