A man was arrested for gun charges, having a stolen car and gang participation Tuesday afternoon, according to Bakersfield Police.
Officers with the Kern County Auto Theft Task Force found a stolen vehicle in the driveway of a home in the 1,000 block of El Tejon Avenue.
According to officers, Efrain Cortez, 34, knelt down by the back of the car, and when officers spoke to him, he threw a backpack onto the ground.
The backpack had a loaded sawed-off shotgun and ammunition.
Cortez was arrested on weapons charges, having a stolen vehicle and gang participation.
