Gregory Reynoso was sentenced to an additional three years in prison today for his involvement in the murder of fellow 34-year-old inmate Christopher Pettenger.

Reynoso pled no contest to assault causing great bodily injury.

Pettenger was found unresponsive in his cell after officials shared that a group of fellow inmates beat him. He was taken to Kern Medical where he died from his injuries.

An accomplice in the crime, Lerdo inmate Ismael Leon was sentenced to another 11 years in prison on October 12. Leon took a plea deal on a charge of voluntary manslaughter.
