On May 31, 2017, at approximately 3:01 p.m., Wasco City Substation deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of Margalo Street in Wasco for a robbery that just occurred.
The adult victim identified the suspect as 25 year-old David Vargas of Wasco. Deputies from the Gang Suppression Section responded with Wasco patrol deputies to assist in locating Vargas because he was suspected of being in possession of a firearm inside of the residence.
Deputies obtained a warrant for Vargas’ arrest and a search warrant for the residence.
Deputies surrounded the residence and utilized a loud speaker to order Vargas out, but he did not comply. During the incident, deputies located Vargas hiding on the roof of the residence.
Vargas surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident. Vargas was booked on charges of burglary and robbery.
