Kern County Sheriff's Office released the following statement:

Over the past several months, a Bakersfield oilfield refinery reported numerous thefts of copper wire.  These thefts have caused several thousand dollars worth of repairs.

Due to the amount of thefts, surveillance systems were set up in an attempt to identify the subjects involved.  During these thefts, a white Mitsubishi 3000gt was spotted in the area.

On 09/14/2015, the white Mitsubishi 3000gt was located unoccupied in the area of Landco Drive and Gilmore Avenue.

Detectives with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crime Investigation Unit, along with local patrol deputies, identified the registered owner of the Mitsubishi 3000gt as Delbert Aldridge  (43), from Bakersfield.

With help from the surveillance system, photographs of Delbert Aldridge were captured.  Detectives served a search warrant at Delbert Aldridge’s residence in the 200 block of Wetherley Drive and evidence of the thefts was located.

Delbert Aldridge was arrested for PC 487(a) grand theft over $950.00 and PC 594(b)(1) vandalism over $400.00.

Delbert Aldridge was transported and booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility.
