Man arrested for Wednesday evening hit and run, victim dies from injuries

UPDATE (Aug. 2 10:30 a.m.) -- The victim of the hit and run has been identified as Bakersfield resident Ralph Rosander.
 
On August 31, 2016 at 7:46 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Ming Avenue and Hughes Lane in south Bakersfield regarding an injury from a hit and run.
 
Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from major injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, according to Bakersfield police. The victim was on a bicycle.
 
Officers located the suspect and suspect vehicle, described as a black Acura RSX near the collision scene and contacted Juan Saucedo Jr. and determined that he was the driver of the suspect vehicle. He was arrested for felony hit and run and being an unlicensed driver.
 
Saucedo was booked into the Kern County Jail.
 

The 2300 block of Ming Avenue was closed for several hours for the investigation.
 
It does not appear that alcohol is a contributing factor in this collision.
