Man arrested on mail theft charges after trying to evade deputies on bicycle

A man was arrested on mail theft charges after trying to evade deputies on a bicycle in Rosamond on Monday.

On Nov. 6 around 2 a.m., Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies were patrolling the area of Cactus Circle and Rodney Street in Rosamond when they spotted a man near community mailboxes.

Scott Foss attempted to flee deputies on a bicycle before he was eventually caught near Marielle Way and Marble Street.  

Deputies found stolen mail, burglary tools and what appeared to be a damaged mail box.

Foss, 33, was booked into the Mojave Jail for resisting or delaying a peace officer, possession of burglary tools, mail theft, and possession of access card.
