On Tuesday January 5, 2016, at about 7:00 a.m., Bakersfield Police Department officers responded to a suspicious circumstances report in the 5200 block of Monitor Street.

A 13-year-old girl said as she was walking to school, she was approached by a man who grabbed her and attempted to drag her away. The juvenile was able to escape and was uninjured. 

The suspect is described as an unknown race, light skinned male, 5’8” – 5’9”, medium build, wearing a short sleeve dark shirt and blue jeans. 

An unknown make white van was seen parked in the area; however, it is unknown if it is related.
