Man burglarizes church; arrested days later in stolen car after vehicle pursuit

A 22-year-old man was arrested on Saturday in a stolen car after leading police on a vehicle pursuit. He was also wanted for burglarizing a church last weekend.

On Nov. 26 at 8:02 a.m. Dillion Dabbs forced entry into Pleasant View Baptist Church on South Haley Street and took some undisclosed items. When confronted by an employee Dabbs assaulted the victim and fled on foot.

On Saturday at around 7:40 p.m. Bakersfield Police Officers located a stolen car on Monterey Street. The car had been reported stolen on Dec. 1.

Dabbs led police on a vehicle pursuit that ended near Panorama Drive and Union Avenue after he crashed.

Dabbs is being charged with felony evading, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, gang-related charges and for burglarizing the church.
