The man charged with stabbing his 75-year-old mother to death in Tehachapi last month appeared in a Kern County court room for the first time on Tuesday.
Matthew Jensen was charged with first degree murder after his mother, Barbara Jensen Teague, was found murdered in her home on Oct. 23. Jensen was arrested in Arizona three days later.

Investigators said when Jensen, 50, was stopped by officers, he admitted to them that he killed his mother.
His arraignment was moved to Nov. 20.
