A man who was on the run for two years after his involvement in a deadly bar shooting was convicted on Tuesday.
Gabriel Verdugo Jr. was convicted on first-degree murder charges for killing Elvis Gonzalez outside the El Escorpion Bar on South Chester Avenue in August 2015.
Investigators said Verdugo and Gonzalez were arguing before Verdugo opened fire.
Verdugo was caught in Mexico earlier this year with the help of the BPD gang unit, U.S. Marshals and Baja State Police.
Verdugo is expected to be sentenced in January.
