One person has died after a rollover crash near the mouth of the Kern River Canyon.
According to CHP, 20-year-old Alejandro Garza was driving westbound on Highway 178 this morning when, for an unknown reason, his vehicle left the roadway and fell an estimated 300 feet. CHP says that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Officials said that Garza was not wearing a seatbelt.
According to CHP, the vehicle is a white, 4-door 2014 Toyota. It was registered in Kern County.
CHP says that the 178 was closed for several hours on Tuesday.
