BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield Police are investigating a deadly assault in central Bakersfield that happened earlier this month.
Isaac Matthew Ortiz was assaulted on the 200 block of Truxtun Avenue on Nov. 4 around 11:30 p.m., according to BPD.
Ortiz, 30, survived the attack and was taken to Kern Medical, where his condition continued to worsen. He died on Sunday, Nov. 12, police said.
Officials are working to determine a cause and manner of death.
