Man dies in Boron after being taken into custody by KCSO

A man taken into custody by Kern County Sheriff's deputies died Wednesday night in Boron. 

According to KCSO, deputies went to the area of Juniper Avenue just off the 58 after reports of a man who was allegedly under the influence and acting strangely just after 6 Wednesday night. 

KCSO says the man was walking around the neighborhood and one person reported that the man was making threats in the area. 

Deputies made contact with the man and asked him to get on the ground. De did, but as deputies tried to handcuff him he began to resist.

A resident in the area helped deputies take him into custody.

After the man was cuffed, KCSO says the man stopped breathing. Deputies and medical personnel tried to save the man, but he was pronounced dead. 

No word on the identity of the man.
