Bakersfield Police are looking for a man who led an officer on a short pursuit in east Bakersfield early Tuesday morning in a stolen car.

On Nov. 7 at 2:15 a.m., BPD Sergeant Rick Dossey attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a Honda Accord, that was previously reported stolen, BPD said.

The driver of the stolen car led Sgt. Dossey on a short pursuit before exiting the car and fleeing on foot in the 400 block of South Brown Street.

During the incident, BPD said Sgt. Dossey's patrol car collided with the suspect, who is identified as Juan Manuel Bravo.

Bravo, 28, fled and police are looking for him. BPD has probable cause to arrest him for possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading and resisting arrest.

Bravo is described as a Hispanic male.

Police said there was a passenger in the stolen vehicle who remained at the scene and was taken into custody with no incident.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to call Detective Christina Abshire at (661) 326-3559.
