CalTrans came across a man who fell in the Kern River Friday and managed to pull himself out.
The man was walking along the river, fell in, and got himself out after the current took him a little ways down, according to KCSO.
The guy was able to climb out and walked until he saw CalTrans and told them he needed help. Clayton Endes, 27, found himself on the north side of the river with no way to cross back over
CalTrans was in the area investigating a guard rail.
KCSO said he had minor injuries and was sunburnt.
Search and Rescue was called around 1:35 p.m. and notified. Endes was found just east of the powerhouse on the north side of the river approximately a half a mile downstream from where his vehicle was parked.
