A man in south Bakersfield was fatally crushed by a dump truck in an accident Tuesday afternoon on Berkshire Road, according to the Kern County Fire Department.
He got trapped between the bucket on the dump truck as it was coming down, officials said. The man, who was in his 50's, was found by a neighbor.
He was already dead when officials pulled him out. Hydraulic failure is thought to be the cause of the accident, but KCFD is investigating to confirm.
