Man found in Bakersfield after allegedly kidnapping own son appears in court

The man found in Bakersfield after allegedly kidnapping his own two-month-old son appeared in a Los Angeles County court on Tuesday. 

Jeffrey Gomes entered a plea of not guilty. Gomes allegedly kidnapped his son on Friday in the Fort Tejon area which triggered an Amber Alert.

Gomes was eventually found in Bakersfield on Saturday in the area of Taft Highway and S. Enos Lane. His son, Jefferson Gomes, was found safe. 

Gomes is expected to be back in court on Nov. 20. He is being held at the Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles with a bail set at $150,000.
