A man who was hired to rape a woman in two years ago was in court on Thursday for sentencing.

Haliki Green Jr., who faces up to 50 years in prison, asked for a new trial and lawyer when he appeared in court on June 7.

Green was convicted last month after being hired to rape another man's wife in March 2016, according to the Kern County District Attorney.

Green was convicted of rape in concert, sexual penetration with force, assault, false imprisonment and enhancements for personal infliction of great bodily injury and tying and binding the victim.

Green's new attorney will be confirmed on June 15, according to the D.A.'s office. The new attorney will receive the case and decide if there are any motions to be filed.
