The man who was hit and killed by a vehicle Monday night has been identified by the Kern County Coroner's office.

According to the coroner's office, 44-year-old Donald Glen Trout died of his injuries after being hit in the area of Haley Street near Columbus.

Trout was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation.
