A man held an American flag on a Bakersfield overpass in honor of fallen heroes on Memorial Day.

The man, who said "this isn't about me" when asked for his name, was holding the flag on the overpass near 7th Standard Rd. and Highway 99.

He told 23 ABC he's lost a lot of friends, and said that "holding this flag is a powerful tool."
