Man identified in deadly rollover crash in Arvin

The man who was killed in a crash in Arvin over the weekend has been identified as Jaime Silva Jr. by the Kern County Coroner's Office.

CHP said on Sunday, Nov. 26 around 3:25 a.m., Silva Jr, 27, was driving northbound on Rancho Drive, north of Herring Road. A 57-year-old man driving a tractor trailer hauling farm equipment was traveling southbound on the same stretch of road.

For an undetermined reason, the car and the trailer collided head-on.

Silva Jr. died as a result of the crash, according to CHP. 

A 27-year-old man from Lamont was taken to the hospital with major injuries. 

A 27-year-old woman from Lamont was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries and a 30-year-old man from Lamont was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. 

The tractor driver was uninjured in the collision.

Officials are still trying to determine which vehicle was at fault for the collision.

At this time, it is unknown is drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
