Bakersfield Police Department said that a man in a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle in Central Bakersfield on Sunday night. 

BPD said that the collision happened just after 8 p.m. on F street near 19th Street. Officers said that the man in the wheelchair was not in a crosswalk when he was hit. The driver of the car stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

BPD said that it does not appear that alcohol, drugs or speed were factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
