A man is dead after his vehicle collided with a big rig west of Wasco early Saturday morning.

The California Highway Patrol says they got a call for an accident on State Route 46 east of Corcoran Road just after midnight on Saturday morning. 

During the investigation, CHP officers determined the victim was driving a 2010 Toyota westbound on SR 46 and drifted into the eastbound lane for an unknown reason. A big rig was traveling eastbound and collided with the car head-on. The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the big rig was not injured.

CHP says alcohol and/or drugs may be a factor in this crash. The investigation is ongoing.
