DELANO, Calif. — Roads were blocked for a period of time in Delano on Sunday as police responded to a fatal collision off Garzoli Avenue at about 4 p.m.

According to the Delano Police Department, a single-vehicle crash resulted in the death of a motorcyclist. DPD said the rider was traveling in the northbound lane of Garzoli Avenue when he lost control, struck a fence pole and landed on the ground.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

DPD says to keep an eye out on the road for one another as May is motorcycle and bicycle awareness month.
