A man faces multiple charges after leading Bakersfield Police on a short chase before ditching a handgun Wednesday night.

According to Bakersfield Police, officers tried to pull over a car in the area of 30th and Q streets just before 10:30 Wednesday night. 

Police say the driver didn't pull over and led police on a short chase before leaving the vehicle and running off. BPD says the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Daniel Aleman, allegedly tossed a loaded handgun. 

Aleman was later found by police and faces multiple charges for evading police and carrying a loaded gun.
