A man on a bicycle was taken to the hospital with head injuries after he crashed with a car in East Bakersfield, California Highway Patrol investigators said Wednesday.
The cyclist and the car collided in the area of College Avenue and Burton Way at around 3:15 p.m.
Investigators said the cyclist wasn't wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was taken to the hospital with head injuries, CHP crews said.
CHP dispatchers initially reported the cyclist suffered major injuries, but his condition at the hospital wasn't known Wednesday.
Traffic in the immediate area was briefly impacted during the investigation.
It wasn't immediately known who was at fault in the crash or whether anyone may face charges.
