The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash that sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries Monday night.
It happened around 9:45 p.m. on Roberts Lane near Higgins Drive.
KCSO officials said the man was on a skateboard when he was hit by a driver who said she couldn't avoid the man.
Officials said the man had major trauma to his head and upper body and was transported to a local hospital.
